IPOB SIT-AT-HOME ORDER CAN CAUSE MENTAL ILLNESS, EXPERT WARNS

The sit-at-home directive that the Indigenous Peoples of Biafra (IPOB) is enforcing in the South-East can trigger depression and lead to mental illness, a medical practitioner has warned.

Monday Igwe, Medical Director, Federal Neuropsychiatric Hospital, issued the warning during the commemoration of the 2021 World Mental Health Day.

"All these unfriendly developments lead to losses to many and for some, it might further lead to depression and hopelessness that might trigger full-blown mental health challenge," he told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN).
