RONALDO'S MOTHER SETS EMOTIONAL AFTER WATCHING HIM SCORE AT OLD TRAFFORD

Cristiano Ronaldo's mum was spotted in tears at Old Trafford as her son scored twice on his Manchester United return.

The Portuguese ace scored either side of half-time against Newcastle to cap a perfect homecoming and it was all a little too much for his mother Dolores Aveiro.

The goal was one of the easiest Ronnie will ever score but the Old Trafford crowd-some of whom turned up more than two hours early - did not care.

And he added another just 17 minutes after the break as he put United ahead for the second time in the 4-1 win.

His two strikes put the Portuguese on 120 United goals and his mum Dolores was overcome with emotion.

A picture appearing to show the 66 year-old crying at Old Trafford was posted on Twitter.

Ambo_91 shared the snap and wrote: "Ronaldo's Mum behind me after him scoring, my heart cannot cope."

It received more than 12,000 likes and 2,470 re-tweets.

Dolores flew into Manchester on a private jet earlier this week.

But her appearance at Old Trafford came as a surprise to some with Ronaldo previously admitting his mum is banned from attending his biggest matches.

That is because she gets so anxious that she has fainted twice inside the stadium, with one of her falls breaking her teeth.

Ronaldo told Piers Morgan: "She's not allowed now to watch big games.

"I say, 'Listen, I don't have a father any more. I don't want to lose my mum, too, so you're not going to watch quarter-finals, semi-finals, or finals."

The United legend told Morgan in an earlier interview: "She gets so nervous, I don't understand why. She is not allowed now to watch big games."

"I get friends to stay with her and she goes for walks around the house.

"She fainted two times in the stadium. She is nervous."
