Benue is predominantly inhabited by Tiv, Idoma, Igede, Etulo peoples having its capital as Makurdi.
The Tiv people are subsistence farmers whose main crops are yams, millet, and sorghum.
The Idomas are known to be warriors' and 'hunters of class, but hospitable and peace-loving.
The Etulo are believed to have migrated from the former Kwarrafa kingdom and also believe that there is no natural death, as every death is cause by witches and wizards.
