FIRST PHOTOS OF TARELLA, THE ARO-FANTASY FEATURE FILM, DIRECTED BY KAYODE KASUM AND LOLO EREMIE

We can officially confirm reports that Tarella is loosely based on the Cinderella story.

Writer, Producer and Co-Director, Lolo Eremie, expounded on the fact that the original Cinderella story was first based on the narrative of an Egyptian Maiden called Rhodopis and her encounter with Pharaoh. This story has been adapted over and over by the west and rebranded as Cinderella. In our version, we pay homage to Rhodopis via Tarella and take back the narrative, as we remind the world that "Yes, Cinderella was black."
