NIGERIA BASKETBALL FEDERATION (NBBF) DEDICATES D'TIGERS' WINS AGAINST US, ARGENTINA TO LATE SOUND SULTAN
In a tweet on their verified handle, the Nigeria Basketball federation said, "We dedicate the victories against US & Argentina to late Olanrewaju Fasasi (@Soundsultan). You saw this day coming when Nigeria would become a dominant force in global basketball. Ironically, the day we won against @usabasketball, that was when you gave up the ghost. RIP," NBBF tweeted.
Shortly after the games, NBBF took to social media to honour Sound Sultan who was a basketball enthusiast during his lifetime and did his best to support the sport.
Sound Sultan, who died on Sunday was a basketball enthusiast during his lifetime.
His death was announced by his family on July 11 in a statement which revealed that the singer died after battling Angioimmunoblastic T-Cell Lymphoma.
This was on the same day D'Tigers defeated the United States in their public game displayed ahead of Tokyo Olympics.
