Benin city is known to be one of Nigeria's ancient city that wielded great power in the time past. One of the five great interesting fact about this Ancient Kingdom is that it houses the Oldest Church in West Africa, not just Nigeria alone.

The church was handed over to Oba Oreoghene in 1962 by Pope Pius XH.

It was known as the The Holy Arousa and is today called Benin National Church.
