ENGLAND SQUAD TO DYE THEIR HAIR BLONDE IF THEY WIN EURO 2020

Phil Foden dyed his hair blond before the start of the tournament and he has now convinced his team mates to do the same if they win a major trophy this summer for the first time in 55 years.

Phil Foden has revealed England's team, his entire squad have agreed to copy his bleach-blonde hair if they win the European Championship.

The Manchester City playmaker evoked memories of Paul Gascoigne at Euro '96 by unveiling the new trim on the eve of the tournament.

hair for 1998 World Cup - two years before

Foden was born - and the youngster said

his team-mates have promised to do the

same if they go all the way this summer.. 

"I told the team that if we win it, they have to get the same haircut as me, and they all agreed," Foden told talkSPORT.  

"Hopefully if we win it you will see everyone with the same haircut, I think Romania did it so I would make everyone get the same haircut, which would be funny."

Asked if the hair was a tribute to Gazza, Foden revealed the real source of inspiration was his departing Man City teammate Sergio Aguero.

"To be honest, it was my own thing and then I saw people turn it into something else and I kind of just jumped on it like everyone else would," he said of Gazza comparisons.

"I was speaking to Razza [Raheem Sterling] about Sergio having the same kind of hair and that I liked it so me being me, I decided to change it up and called the barber to come and do this and I've liked it ever since. I've made it even lighter, I had another hair cut the other day to make it lighter."

"I think it is good," he said of the decision.

"When you come to a big tournament like this there is so much media around it and you are not always going to read positive comments, so I think it is good that everyone has taken a step back and tried to come off it more."

Foden was replaced by Jack Grealish in the second half as England struggled to find a spark against the Scots, while captain Harry Kane was also substituted for the second game running after again failing to have a shot on target.
