ASTERISKS OF A LION

Episode I: AGORA
The evening was tasteless in my mouth as I could literally tell the staleness of the night. The aura around Eni Njoku Hostel was climatologic as usual. The offensive fragrance of the mgelina tree still enveloped the air even in the presence of aromas of some malicious delicacies oozing out of several rooms within its walls. In fact, nothing was unusual yet everything was usual.
As I made through my already customized route through Eni Njoku Hostel to my hostel, Alvan Ikoku, I completely enwrapped myself with the thoughts of the pleasant crispy smell of Mallam Idris' mishai back at SUG as it was popularly called as though it were the academic office of the Students Union Government. A fresher could have bet his grades that it was, indeed but will be astonished to be greeted with buzzing eyes of expectant make-shift fast food sellers, provision sellers and service providers there. Anything that could be sold on campus could be caught red-handed there and same was any service. If human parts could be sold on campus, it could have been sold in it. It was the converging point for night groovers. like the Agora of the Ancient Greeks' marketplaces, the latest news and gossips on campus could be gotten in her, free-to-air; whether or not you were receptive to it was inexpedient because it was literary in the oxygen you breathe as you walked within her perimeter
