Superliga: Brondby Back To Winning Ways With Impressive Victory In Randers
After last weekend's disappointment in Odense and a heavy 0-3 home defeat to Randers in September, Brondby hit back in style on Friday night with a convincing 3-1 win in Jutland, led by a Mads Frokjaer double.
Randers winless run continues as Brondby take 3-1 revenge...
Brondby responded to last weekend's setback in Odense by returning to winning ways on Friday, securing an impressive 3-1 victory away at Randers.
The result also saw Thomas Norregaard's side avenge their heavy 3-0 home loss to Randers back on September 6.
Apart from a 5-2 win against Lyngby, Brondby have struggled for consistency since the first five rounds of the season, and even after Friday's victory they remain in fifth place.
One of the low points was their last meeting with Randers, a 3-0 defeat at Brondby Stadion making the Copenhagen side all the more determined to settle the score in Friday's trip to Jutland.
That desire for payback was partly fulfilled after just 15 minutes. Olti Hyseni picked up the ball inside the box and was shoved from behind by Randers defender Sabil Hansen, with Mads Frokjaer stepping up from the spot to give the visitors the lead.
Just before half-time, tension spiked at the other end as the ball pinballed around dangerously inside the Brondby box.
Brondby's Raphael Canut went up for the ball with Randers' Axel Henriksson, the pair collided, and the referee awarded a penalty. Mike Themsen made no mistake from the spot to level the score.
Brondby kept carving out big chances after the restart, and just past the hour mark the visitors regained the lead.
Jacob Ambaek was quickest to react to a spill from Randers keeper Paul Izzo who should have done better to hold it and the Brondby forward tucked the rebound away with ease.

Only four minutes later Brondby struck again, as Marcus Younis broke clean through and unselfishly squared for Frokjaer to grab his second of the night.
As a result, Randers are now without a Superliga win since that 3-0 triumph over Brondby in their last meeting, slipping to ninth in the table.
