Inter Milan captain Lautaro Martinez is facing a month on the sidelines after suffering a thigh injury.
The Serie A champions confirmed the setback on Thursday, with Italian media reporting a month-long absence.
Inter said Martinez “underwent clinical and diagnostic tests (which) revealed a strain in his left hamstring.”
The exact length of his absence has not been confirmed, but press reports suggest the Argentine will be out until the next international break.
The 29-year-old forward is therefore expected to miss a month of action, including the Milan derby on October 31st.
On Tuesday, Martinez netted twice in Inter's 4-3 loss to Club Brugge in the second round of the Champions League league phase.
He has already scored four goals in the league this season for Inter, who sit top of Serie A ahead of second-placed Lazio on goal difference.
