August Holmgren’s shot at Wimbledon’s main draw is over. The Dane lost in the second round of qualifying to world No. 197 Jerome Kym of Switzerland, 6-4, 6-3.

Holmgren won’t feature in the main tournament at SW19 this year after the qualifying exit.

The 28-year-old Dane was beaten in straight sets by Switzerland’s Jerome Kym in the second qualifying round, 6-4, 6-3, with the match lasting 1 hour 24 minutes.

Both men fired 12 aces, but Kym, ranked No. 197 and 50 places below Holmgren, was more aggressive. He struck 24 winners to Holmgren’s 15.

Holmgren won’t get the chance to match his run from last summer, when he came through Wimbledon qualifying and made it all the way to the third round of the main draw.
