Lee Kang-in scores and assists, Mayulu and Beraldo add goals as rotated PSG extend Ligue 1 lead...

Paris Saint-Germain went six points clear at the top of Ligue 1 with an eighth win in nine games, beating Angers SCO 3-0 at Stade Raymond-Kopa.

Despite rotating the squad ahead of their midweek UEFA Champions League semi-final, PSG took an early lead when Lee Kang-in rounded Herve Koffi to tap in after the keeper had initially saved Achraf Hakimi’s close-range effort.

The Moroccan was a constant threat in the first half, sending another shot wide before testing Koffi again with a curling free-kick.

Senny Mayulu then made it 2-0 with a neat finish after Lucas Beraldo slipped him through. Bradley Barcola nearly wrapped it up before half-time, but his chip was hacked off the line.

Angers struggled to respond, though Amine Sbai did see a goal chalked off for offside in the build-up.

PSG didn’t wait long into the second half for a third. Lucas Beraldo, who assisted the second, headed in Lee’s inswinging corner.

Prosper Peter had a chance to pull one back on the hour mark but poked wide from a promising position.

Goncalo Ramos also hit the wrong side of the post with a placed effort as PSG kept pressing. The Portuguese was later sent off for a second yellow after a late challenge on Koffi, but it was too little, too late for Angers.

Jacques Ekomie’s wayward effort that flew well over summed up Angers’ attacking struggles. They’ve now scored just once in five home games and are winless in five overall (D2, L3), their longest run without a win this season.

Still, one more point from their final three games will secure safety for another season. PSG have loftier goals of defending their title, and after a 20th straight head-to-head win, they’re firmly on track to do it.
