Rennes Vs Nice
Nice's win streak ends as Rennes score 4

Nice's seven-game winless streak continues as Rennes dominates 4-0, moves into Ligue 1's top five with goals from Lepaul, Szymanski, Blas, and Mukiele.

Stade Rennais' strong form continues with 4-0 win over OGC Nice, Blas and Mukiele seal late goals...

Stade Rennais is on fire, securing a 4-0 victory over OGC Nice at the Allianz Riviera, marking their fourth consecutive Ligue 1 win. This impressive streak is their joint-longest since February 2024, propelling them into the top five of Ligue 1.

The thrilling first half saw Rennes take the lead with the first shot of the game, courtesy of Esteban Lepaul's powerful strike, set up by Valentin Rongier. Sebastian Szymanski and Ludovic Blas also contributed to the scoreline with impressive goals. Nice struggled to cope with Rennes' momentum, ultimately suffering a humiliating defeat.

Rennes took control after Lepaul's early goal, with Musa Tamaari and Sebastian Szymanski contributing to the attack. Szymanski scored the second goal, a deflected effort, after Tamaari's shot flew over the bar.

Nice's struggles continued as Arnaud Nordin had chances to extend Rennes' lead, but he dragged a shot wide and later slipped in the box, allowing Yehvann Diouf an easy save.

However, against the run of play, Nice had the ball in the net with their first attempt of the match through a delicate finish from Morgan Sanson.

Ultimately, though, he was denied a sixth Ligue 1 goal contribution against Rennes, given Mohamed-Ali Cho was offside in the build-up

Rennes' penalty appeal was thwarted as Diouf saved Lepaul's spot-kick, but Tamaari's rebound header was ruled out for encroachment. The goalkeepers then traded crucial saves, with Brice Samba stopping Cho's lob and Diouf parrying Rongier's fierce strike.

Nice pushed hard after halftime, making two changes and nearly pulling one back through Kail Boudache's powerful drive, which Samba just managed to tip over. Meanwhile, Rennes remained threatening, with Tamaari eager to add to his influence.

Nevertheless, Nice were on top after the interval and really should have halved the deficit when Kevin Carlos glanced a free header off target from close range. Then, Tom Louchet’s acrobatic effort clipped the crossbar as Les Aiglons appeared to be close to halving the deficit.

In response, though, Rennes made a triple substitution to freshen up the team, and it paid off as two of the replacements combined to seal all three points.

Ludovic Blas sealed the win for Rennes with a brilliant solo goal, cutting the ball back into the far corner. Breel Embolo gets the assist, but it was all Blas. In stoppage time, Nordan Mukiele added a fourth, curling past Diouf to send Rennes into the European places.

Rennes' win pushes them into the top five, while Nice remains stuck above the relegation zone, seventh game without a win (D4, L3). Only five points separate them from the play-off spot.
