Denmark coach Brian Riemer is pleased with the World Cup draw, calling it “lucky” for his team. Denmark, who need to qualify through the playoff phase, face Mexico, South Africa, and South Korea in Group A.
Riemer emphasized the importance of qualifying for the World Cup, saying Denmark must take advantage of this opportunity. The draw has given them a chance to make a statement, and Riemer is optimistic about their prospects.
“It was a special experience. I've always said that the advantage of this seeding in group A is that you can draw a host nation. These are countries that are not normally there. So in that way, we had a little luck in terms of avoiding Spain, France, Argentina, and Brazil. In addition, I think the group looks interesting. There are possibilities,” said Brian Riemer to dr.dk
What do you think about potentially playing in Mexico?
“I've used references to the players many times, in relation to Mexico. It started a historic journey for Denmark (in 1986), and we have the opportunity to qualify for the third successive World Cup, and to have to play in a legendary stadium.”
“We HAVE to qualify. We have a good chance. The margins are small, and we have all eyes on North Macedonia, where we have to live up to our very best,” says Brian Riemer.
