Shelbourne and BK Häcken played out a 0-0 draw in their Conference League match, with the Irish champions earning their first point in the group stage. The match marked Shelbourne's first European group stage appearance in over 20 years.
The game was a tight affair, with Mikkel Rygaard coming close to breaking the deadlock for Häcken on eight minutes, his low shot narrowly missing the target. The hosts also had an early penalty claim waved away, but neither team could find the breakthrough.
Midfielder Emil Solsbak stung Wessel Speel's palms, but earlier, Hacken's Ademipo Odubeko had a goal correctly ruled out for offside in the 15th minute. Odubeko had tapped in after Harry Wood's shot was blocked.
Hacken enjoyed a lively spell midway through the half, with Silas Andersen's deflected effort coming close to breaking the deadlock, but it narrowly sailed wide of the target.

The harsh weather conditions at Tallaght Stadium, Shelbourne's temporary European home, made for a challenging match. Kerr McInroy tried to exploit the greasy pitch with a low shot, but Etrit Berisha made a solid save to keep the score goalless.
Just before halftime, McInroy had another opportunity, but his effort hit the side netting, leaving both teams to head into the break still locked at 0-0.
After the break, Mikkel Rygaard continued to threaten Shelbourne's goal, curling an effort that Wessel Speel managed to hold onto despite the challenging wind conditions.
The game remained tense, with Filip Helander escaping a potentially tricky situation when his heavy touch in the box wasn't seized upon by Ademipo Odubeko. Later, Shelbourne's Aaron McInroy was relieved when his interception from Danilo Al-Saed's cutback rolled just past the post.
As the match entered its final quarter, Danilo Al-Saed continued to cause problems for Shelbourne, with a run and cutback that Isak Brusberg couldn't quite get on the end of, steering the ball wide.
Despite the efforts, Jens Gustafsson's BK Häcken seemed to run out of ideas as the clock ticked down, and the match ultimately ended in a goalless draw on the stormy night in Dublin.
