Scottie Scheffler, the world No. 1, shot a three-under 67, but it wasn't enough to catch Robert MacIntyre, who maintained his four-stroke lead at the BMW Championship. Scheffler's strong play was evident, especially on the back nine, where he battled MacIntyre for the lead. However, MacIntyre's clutch putting proved decisive, allowing him to hold onto his advantage.
Key Moments:
- MacIntyre's Clutch Putting: MacIntyre's ability to sink crucial putts kept Scheffler at bay, even as the world No. 1 pushed hard to close the gap.
- Scheffler's Consistency: Scheffler's 67 showcased his skill, but MacIntyre's lead held firm, setting up an intriguing final round.
Ludvig Aberg sits in third place at 11-under par, trailing Robert MacIntyre by four strokes. England's Harry Hall and American Sam Burns are tied for fourth at 9-under par. Tommy Fleetwood and Maverick McNealy are just behind, sitting at 8-under par.

“He was just jeering. He was just shouting I missed it - he's pushed it. Pushed it right in the middle of the hole, I guess,” MacIntyre said.

“I'll give as good back as I get. There were obviously a couple of shouts. But there's plenty of security there that are hearing it and seeing it, and I did see them talk to a few people. I don't know if anyone was thrown out, but there were plenty of people to talk to.”
MacIntyre warned he's not one to be heckled, adding, “It's not the size of the dog in the fight, it's the size of the fight in the dog and I grew up fighting to be in this position.”
Robert MacIntyre maintained his lead over Scottie Scheffler, despite a shaky start to the round. MacIntyre bogeyed the first hole after finding a greenside bunker but quickly recovered with a birdie on the par-five fourth hole, sinking a three-foot putt. He then added another birdie at the ninth hole with a seven-foot putt, extending his lead to four strokes at 15-under par.
Scottie Scheffler continued to push hard, rolling in an 18-foot birdie putt at the 14th hole. However, Robert MacIntyre remained focused, sinking a clutch par putt from just outside seven feet at the same hole. This was MacIntyre's fourth par putt of the day made from beyond six feet, showcasing his exceptional skill under pressure.
BMW Championship Implications:
The BMW Championship is a crucial event in the PGA Tour's FedEx Cup playoffs, with the top 30 players in season points advancing to the Tour Championship in Atlanta. MacIntyre's current lead puts him in a strong position to secure his spot, but the competition remains fiercem.
Things are getting fun @BMWchamps 😏
