Sinner Smashes Djokovic to Reach Wimbledon Final Against Alcaraz
Jannik Sinner defeats Novak Djokovic 6-3, 6-3, 6-4 to reach the Wimbledon final, setting up a showdown with Carlos Alcaraz.
Jannik Sinner dominated a struggling Novak Djokovic, winning 6-3, 6-3, 6-4 to advance to the Wimbledon final against defending champion Carlos Alcaraz. As world No. 1, Sinner reaches his fourth consecutive Grand Slam final, seeking his first title at the All England Club.
Sinner, seeking revenge for his agonizing French Open loss to Alcaraz, will look to claim his first Wimbledon title. He and Alcaraz have dominated men's tennis, sharing the last six Grand Slam titles between them. Sinner's desire for redemption will fuel his pursuit of victory in the final against the defending champion.

Defeat on a baking Centre Court means seven-time champion Djokovic must wait for another shot at a record 25th Grand Slam title after failing in his latest bid to equal Roger Federer's record of eight men's Wimbledon crowns.
It is the first time he has failed to reach the Wimbledon final since 2017.
“It's a tournament I always watched when I was young on television, and I would have never imagined that I could play here, you know, in the finals, so it was amazing,” said Sinner.
“From my side, I served very well today, I felt great on court, I was moving really well today.”

“We saw in the third set that he was a bit injured. He's been in a very difficult situation, but I tried to stay calm, to play the best tennis I can.”
Jannik Sinner wore a protective sleeve on his elbow, still recovering from a nasty fall against Grigor Dimitrov in the fourth round. Meanwhile, Novak Djokovic also had fitness concerns after struggling in his quarterfinal win over Flavio Cobolli. Despite these concerns, both players delivered high-level performances in their semifinal clash.
Sinner broke Djokovic in the third game, unleashing a relentless onslaught of precise groundstrokes that left the Serb struggling to keep pace. The 38-year-old Djokovic eventually cracked under the pressure in the ninth game, allowing Sinner to convert his third set point and take the first set 6-3. Sinner maintained his dominance in the second set, breaking early for a 2-0 lead and further solidifying his grip on the match.
Djokovic's Struggle
Djokovic fought to stay in the match, holding serve for 3-1 amidst thunderous crowd support that yearned for an epic contest.
The crowd chanted “Nole” in an effort to energize Djokovic, but Sinner's momentum proved unstoppable, allowing him to take a 5-2 lead. Although Djokovic saved a set point on his own serve, it was only a temporary reprieve. Sinner swiftly closed out the set in just 69 minutes.
Between sets, Djokovic received treatment on the upper part of his left leg, targeting the area he injured during his match against Flavio Cobolli. He found new energy in the third set, breaking Sinner for the first time in the match. However, Sinner responded promptly, pegging him back to 3-2. At the changeover, Djokovic let out a frustrated roar.
Djokovic's physical struggles continued as he was broken again, allowing Sinner to seal the win with his fourth match point. Sinner, fresh from his dominance at the US Open and Australian Open, is now set to face Carlos Alcaraz in the final, seeking revenge against the man who bested him at Roland Garros and has triumphed in the past two Wimbledon titles.
“It is a huge honour for me to share the court once again with Carlos,” he said.
“We try to push ourselves to the limit. He is for sure one of the players I look up to.
“I love watching him, I think you all guys agree on that, what kind of talent he is, but hopefully it's going to be a good match like the last one.”
Sinner trails Alcaraz 8-4 in their head-to-head meetings, having lost their last five encounters. However, he can draw confidence from his 2022 Wimbledon victory over Alcaraz in the fourth round – Alcaraz's last defeat at the All England Club.
