Inzaghi Parts Ways with Pisa After Historic Promotion

Filippo Inzaghi leaves Pisa just weeks after securing historic Serie A promotion, joining Palermo in Serie B amid reports of a €1 million transfer fee.

Pisa has parted ways with manager Filippo Inzaghi just weeks after achieving a historic promotion to Serie A. The club announced the decision, stating that Inzaghi's contract was terminated by mutual consent, despite having two years remaining.

Filippo Inzaghi is set to join Palermo, staying in Serie B despite leading Pisa to a historic promotion to Serie A. Italian reports suggest Palermo paid Pisa around €1 million to secure Inzaghi's services, as the City Football Group-owned club aims for a top-flight return. Under Inzaghi, Pisa finished second in Serie B, ending a 34-year Serie A absence.

Pisa, famous for its iconic leaning tower, earned promotion to Serie A alongside Sassuolo and Cremonese. With Inzaghi's departure, potential successors include Alberto Gilardino, a 2006 World Cup winner with Italy, and Marco Giampaolo, who was recently sacked by Lecce.
