Olympique Lyonnais Féminin, the most successful women's football team globally, has rebranded to OL Lyonnes. Majority owner Michele Kang announced the name change, stating it honors the club's membership in the OL family and its Lyon roots. The new name aims to strengthen the team's identity while maintaining its connection to the city.
In a statement, the club emphasized the rebranding's significance in solidifying their position within the Olympique Lyonnais family. This move comes as part of the club's efforts to evolve and grow under Michele Kang's ownership. The team continues to build on its legacy as one of the world's top women's football teams.
Olympique Lyonnaises, the women's team, has announced that all their home matches will be held at the 59,186-seater Groupama Stadium from the 2025/26 season. The club highlighted the subtle change in their name from “Lyonnais” to “Lyonnaises,” stating, “The subtle change from 'Lyonnais' to 'Lyonnes' underlines the club's all-female identity.” The stadium was previously primarily used by the men's team, Olympique Lyonnais.

Olympique Lyonnaises, the record eight-time Champions League winners and 18-time Premiere Ligue champions, will introduce a new logo for the upcoming season as part of their rebranding to OL Lyonnes.

“Our ambition is to set a new global benchmark for excellence, ambition and investment in women's football. This transformation fully embodies our commitment to offer the best to our players, staff and supporters.”
