The Timberwolves capitalized on their size advantage and shooting accuracy, taking the lead early in the first quarter and maintaining control for much of the game. This ultimately led to their 121-110 victory over the Warriors.
“We've had a season full of adversity, but as coach said at the end of the regular season - we didn't do anything as far as trades or fire coaches,” Randle said.
“We just stuck together and we got through it together. I'm super proud of our team - everybody has stepped up in some way this year. Now we got to keep it going,”
Warriors coach Steve Kerr attributed their series loss to Stephen Curry's injury, which significantly impacted their team's dynamics. "Once Steph went out, it changed everything for our whole team, but especially for Jimmy," Kerr said, referring to Jimmy Butler.
Kerr believes his team had a legitimate chance to compete for the championship if Curry had stayed healthy. “I know we had a shot, I know we could have gone the distance. Maybe we wouldn't have. Everything in the playoffs is about who stays healthy and who gets hot,” he added.
