The Edmonton Oilers staged a remarkable comeback, winning four straight games after initially losing the first two matches against the Los Angeles Kings. They sealed their series win with a 6-4 victory in Game 6 on Thursday night, eliminating the Kings from the Stanley Cup Playoffs.
1st Period
The high-octane series continued its thrilling pace as both teams traded goals early on. The Kings' Quinton Byfield and Brandt Clarke scored, while Adam Henrique and Ryan Nugent-Hopkins replied for the Oilers. Edmonton took a 3-2 lead with just over seven minutes left in the period, thanks to Zach Hyman's goal, assisted by Nugent-Hopkins.
The first period concluded with both teams combining for 24 shots and 20 hits. The Oilers held an edge after successfully capitalizing on their power play opportunity, while the Kings were unable to convert on theirs, heading into the intermission with Edmonton leading 3-2.

2nd Period
The second period was penalty-free and scoreless until the final five minutes. Edmonton extended its lead with two quick goals – Darnell Nurse scored his first playoff goal to make it 4-2, and Trent Frederic added his first playoff goal just under two minutes later, pushing the Oilers' lead to 5-2.
The Kings' Jordan Spence scored his first playoff goal, pulling Los Angeles within two at 5-3, sandwiched between the Oilers' goals. Heading into the third period, Edmonton led in shots 22-15, while the Kings had outhit them 24-22.
3rd Period
The third period was largely uneventful until the Kings pulled their goalie with three minutes remaining. Drew Doughty's slapshot with 53 seconds left narrowed the gap to one goal, but it was too little, too late. Connor Brown sealed the win for Edmonton with an empty-net goal, capping a 6-4 victory. This win marked the Oilers' fourth straight after losing the series' first two games, advancing them to the second round.
