Police Arrest Yahaya Bello's ADC

Police arrest Yahaya Bello's ADC and police personnel for helping the former governor evade the EFCC's arrest.

The controversial former governor of Kogi State, Yahaya Bello, has a female aide-de-camp who has been imprisoned by the Nigeria Police Force.

The ADC is being held in the State Criminal Investigation Department, or SCID, in Abuja after being taken into custody alongside other police officers affiliated with the previous governor.

The Inspector General of Police, or IGP, Olukayode Egbetokun, issued an order in the late hours of Thursday, April 18, mandating their immediate departure from the former governor, which led to their arrest and imprisonment.

Senior law enforcement officials, who requested anonymity, stated that the officers were detained on the grounds that they may have helped Bello elude arrest by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) agents who had gone to his residence in Abuja on Wednesday, April 17.
