Police Re-arrest Primeboy, Mohbad's Friend
Primeboy, also known as Ibrahim Owodunni, is an afro singer who was previously detained by the Lagos State Police Command.
According to information obtained, Primeboy and Ayobami Fisayo, aka Spending, were taken into custody on Tuesday morning while they were visiting the State Criminal Investigation Department in Panti, Yaba.
According to a source with knowledge of the developments, Primeboy and Spending have been required to visit the SCID once a week since the investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death of singer Ilerioluwa Aloba, also known as Mohbad, began.
Spending was released during Tuesday's visit, but Primeboy was taken into custody.
“Both of them had gone to register their presence at SCID this morning as they have been asked to report every week. But when they got there, Primeboy was immediately handcuffed and detained. They allowed only Spending to go after he had signed. Primeboy has been locked up as I speak,” the source disclosed.
Benjamin Hundeyin, the public relations officer for the state police, claimed not to be aware of the arrest when contacted. But he promised to look into it.
“I am not aware. Let me find out,” he said.
Primeboy turned himself in two days after the police declared him wanted on October 4, 2023, during their investigation.
Joseph Aloba, the father of Mohbad, had submitted an application in January to the coroner court located in the state's Ikorodu area, requesting the ability to call additional witnesses in an attempt to determine the reason behind his son's demise.
Primeboy, Spending, and Boluwatife Adeyemo, also known as Darosha, are among the witnesses who have been called to testify in court. It is claimed that they were with the deceased at the relevant time.
Mohbad, who was 27, died on September 12; the circumstances surrounding his death generated discussion on social media.
Mohbad, a former signee of Naira Marley's Marlian Music record label, departed the label in February 2022.
