No Money Will Be Offered As Ransom To Free Kidnapped Children — Tinubu

The President declared that kidnapping, particularly mass abduction, would not be allowed under the current administration.

No ransom will be paid, according to President Bola Tinubu, in order to free the kids kidnapped from Kuriga in Kaduna State.

This was said by the President at today's Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting, which took place at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.

Following the FEC meeting, Muhammad Idris, the Minister of Information and National Orientation, briefed State House Correspondents that President Tinubu had also renewed his directive to the defense to make sure the children are retrieved and returned home safely.

He added that the current administration is committed to combating abduction and other criminal activity in the nation, and that the President has declared his opposition to paying ransom to kidnappers.

He says that kidnapping—especially mass abductions—will not be allowed under the current administration.

Bandits abducted at least sixty people from Buba village, in the Kajuru Local Government Area of Kaduna State, on Tuesday.

The most recent incident in Kajuru happened only five days after gunmen abducted 287 children from the nearby LEA Primary School and Government Secondary School in Kuriga, in the state's Chikun Local Government Area.
