Ningi: Senate Is Already Having Some Credibility Issues — Minority Leader
The Senate Minority Leader, Abba Moro, stated on Wednesday that the upper house is experiencing some credibility issues in the wake of Senator Abdul Ningi's suspension.
Ningi said that the Senate had added N3.7 trillion to the 2024 budget in an interview with BBC Hausa.
Also, he asserted that the N28.7 trillion budget that President Bola Tinubu authorized and signed into law was biased against the North and that the Federal Government is running two different versions of the 2024 budget.
Under Senate President Godswill Akpabio's direction, the circumstances compelled the Red Chamber to suspend Senator Abdul Ningi on Tuesday.
Senator Moro, a Benue South representative in the National Assembly, stated the circumstances had forced the upper house to undergo an integrity test a day after the occurrence.
