Jandor Asks Tinubu To Press The Reset Button And Seek Assistance

Seek Help, Press Reset Button, Jandor Tells Tinubu

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate in the 2023 elections, Abdul-Azeez Adediran, also known as Jandor, has called on President Bola Tinubu to seek assistance and implement measures to alleviate the hardship faced by Nigerians in light of the country's current economic challenges following the floating of the naira and the removal of fuel subsidies.

Protests have broken out in certain regions of Nigeria as a result of the country's naira floating and the elimination of fuel subsidies.

However, Jandor says that if President Tinubu feels overwhelmed by the situation, it wouldn't hurt to ask for assistance in order to address the challenge.

He emphasized that President Tinubu must "push a reset button" and reevaluate how he plans to handle the country's economic problems.

Speaking on “Sunrise Daily,” a breakfast program on Channels Television, Jandor shared his opinion that when confronted with overwhelming obstacles, it is imperative to seek assistance. He emphasized the value of surrounding oneself with people who can provide support and knowledge when navigating challenging situations.

“We don't expect you to know everything we don't expect you to do everything.

“You are there so that you can source materials to work with; materials that can assist you to work with,” he stated.

Jandor expressed his doubts about the efficacy of President Tinubu's and state governments' efforts to use palliatives to lessen the effects of the removal of subsidies. He maintained that providing rice as a temporary fix was insufficient to address the underlying economic issues.

“I am not an apostle of palliative. It won't work,” Jandor asserted

“If you give me rice today, am I going to take the same rice to the pharmacy to buy drugs? Palliatives won't work. We can't reduce ourselves to this.”

Jandor criticized the government for eliminating the fuel subsidy without a thorough plan and urged it to concentrate on raising the purchasing power of the populace in order to lessen their financial burdens.

President Tinubu is being urged to seek assistance and reevaluate his approaches to addressing economic issues as worries about the effects of rising inflation and declining Nigerian purchasing power grow.
