Zamfara Governor's Visit to Bandit-Attacked Communities In Birnin Magaji Local Government Areas
Dauda Lawal, the governor of Zamfara State, reaffirmed his administration's commitment to putting an end to insecurity in the state on Friday by touring communities that had been attacked by bandits.
Nasarawan Godel in the Birnin Magaji Local Government Area and Nasarawan Zurmi in the Zurmi Local Government Area were both attacked by bandits last week.
Sulaiman Bala Idris, the governor's spokesperson, stated in a statement on Friday that the purpose of the visit was to offer sympathy to the families of those who lost loved ones and to support those impacted by the recent tragedy.
The statement said that the governor showed support for the local communities and assured them that his administration is dedicated to resolving the state's security issue in the long run.
The governor gave the police assurances that he would be ready to provide them the support they need to carry on with their work without interference while he was visiting the police station that the bandits had set on fire in Nasarawan Zurmi.
“I would like to express my heartfelt condolences for the two officers who lost their lives during the recent attack by bandits in Nasarawan Zurmi.
“I understand how devastating this incident must have been for everyone involved and I want to assure you that my thoughts and prayers are with the families of the fallen. officers and the entire community.
“I commend the collective efforts of our brave troops fighting banditry.
“Your commitment to keeping our communities safe is genuinely commendable.
“My government will continue to extend all necessary support and assistance to the troops. Together, we will overcome this challenge and emerge stronger,” Lawal said.
The Governor also honored the Emir, His Royal Highness Alhaji Bello Sulaiman, in Zurmi LGA.
The governor gave the residents of Birnin Magaji Local Government Area an assurance during his visit to Nasarawan Godal that he had sent relief supplies as soon as the attack occurred.
“I’m here to offer comfort to grieving families of victims and demonstrate the government’s commitment to ensuring people’s safety and security.
“I hope that my visit today conveys a message of hope to the people of Nasarawan Godal and reassure them that they are not alone during this difficult time,” he said.
According to the statement, the Governor stopped at Kasuwan Daji in Kauran Namoda Local Government Area on his way back to Gusau. There, he paid a visit to Alhaji Hamisu Kasuwan Daji, whose home had recently been attacked by bandits.
