Economic Hardship: Nurse Association Issues Directives To All Members To Join NLC Protest
Nigerian Nurses Association Mobilises Members Nationwide To Join NLC Mass Protests Over Hardship Under Tinubu’s Presidency.
The directive was issued on Wednesday by the NANNM Secretariat and was signed by Otaru Shaibu, the acting head of the department of industrial relations and deputy general secretary.
The proposed nationwide protest against the country's high cost of living is scheduled for February 27 and 28, and the National Association of Nigeria Nurses and Midwives (NANNM) has ordered all of its members to fully comply with this directive.
Remember that on February 16, the NLC announced a two-day protest that is anticipated to start on February 22, the day the 14-day ultimatum it issued to the Federal Government expires.
The government was allegedly failing to carry out the agreements made on October 2, 2023, after the fuel subsidy was removed, which is why the warning was issued.
Earlier on February 8, the NLC and Trade Union Congress gave the government a two-week ultimatum to comply with their demands, which included increased pay and easier access to public utilities.
