Economic Hardship: Governor Sanwo-Olu To Use ‘Mama Put’ Feed Lagosians


Lagos State to hire “Mama put” and eateries to feed 1,000 residents of each local government each day, according to Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu.



Mr Sanwo-Olu says the state will feed at least 1000 people daily across each local government area through meal vouchers that could be accessed at selected canteens. Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has announced a 25 percent reduction in the cost of state-owned transport services, beginning from this weekend.



The governor also unveiled a plan to reduce residents' financial hardships by requiring civil servants at all levels to work three days a week.


The governor made this announcement during a live media chat dubbed “Sanwo Speaks,” where he also talked about ways to lessen the financial burden Lagosians are bearing.

Teachers will continue to work five days a week as usual, but the government will help with additional transportation support.


Sunday markets will offer reasonably priced food, with a N25,000 maximum purchase limit, for five Sundays.
