Supreme Court Upholds The Election Of Dapo Abiodun
The Supreme Court of Justice sitting in Abuja on Friday upheld the victory of Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun
The election of Dapo Abiodun as governor of Ogun State has been upheld by the Supreme Court.
The Peoples Democratic Party and Ladi Adebutu, the appellants, prayed to the supreme court to order the Independent National Electoral Commission to hold new elections in the 99 polling places where the previous elections were purportedly canceled.
On November 24, 2023, the Appeal Court, Lagos Division, upheld Abiodun's reelection in a divided ruling.
The PDP and its governorship candidate's appeal was dismissed by Justice Joseph Ikyegh's majority ruling.
After presenting the main ruling, Justice Tijani Abubakar denied the appeal.
