Sunday Igboho, an agitator for the Yoruba Nation, finally spoke up about the rumors that he turned into a cat during a nocturnal raid

Prominent Yoruba Nation figure Sunday Adeyemo, also referred to as Sunday igboho, has acknowledged that a midnight raid by the Department of State Services (DSS) on his home in July 2021 resulted in the death of several of his cats.

Igboho, who has cats as pets, claimed in an interview with The Punch that the DSS officers shot bullets randomly during the raid, killing multiple cats. He refuted the rumors that, in order to avoid being apprehended, he changed into a cat.

He emphasized that the cats were just caught in the crossfire of the raid, but acknowledging earlier reports claiming that the DSS and troops brought three herbalists, killed five cats, and took one away, thinking that Igboho had transformed.

“It's true that some cats were killed during the attack, Igboho explained. "The DSS just kept firing bullets everywhere. I had many cats as pets, and any movement attracted their gunfire.”

He added, “Their mission was clear: either kill me or arrest me and take me to some unknown location. But God is greater than anyone, including the former president. My God and providence put them to shame with that illegal raid. They failed to achieve what they came for. I didn't turn into a cat to escape.”

This information was made public only a few days after the Benin Republic government was mandated to provide Igboho 20 million CFA in compensation for the raid and his unlawful incarceration by the ECOWAS Court of Justice in Abuja. Igboho recently got his freedom back in Benin and is now back in Germany with his family.
