Kano Hisbah police are planning to wed controversial Tiktoker Murja Kunya and other people months after she was detained for allegedly corrupting society
The Kano Hisbah, headed by Sheikh Aminu Daurawa, has said that it will help Tik Tokers get married in Kano and support them in their economic ventures.
This project was introduced at a meeting that the Hisbah called to help Tik Tokers develop their moral principles.
On Monday, November 6, 2023, at 4 PM, the Kano State Hisbah Command invited Murja Ibrahim Kunya, a renowned Tik Toker who is well-known for her inflammatory content that often sparks debate in Kano state, and other popular tiktokers to their headquarters for possible rehabilitation.
Dr. Mujahid Aminuddeen, the Deputy Commander-General of Hisbah, invited the guests, urging them to bring their business and educational credentials while hiding their faces to safeguard their identities.
This meeting's main goal is to provide support to anyone who would like help from Abba Kabir Yusuf, the state governor.
Large numbers of Tiktokers, many of whom had covered their faces with niqabs and were dressed in full traditional regalia, attended the assembly.
Speaking during the plan's unveiling, Sheikh Aminu Daurawa, the Commander-General of the Hisbah Board, said: "We are willing to give you all the necessary support to live a sustainable life, those of you that have fiancees or are interested in marriage we promise to organize a grand wedding and take responsibility for all the expenses."
He also gave moral advice to the attendees, including well-known TikTokers Murja Kunya.
According to Sheikh Daurawa, any Tik Tok user in need of financial assistance should draft a business plan and submit it to the Hisbah board. If the board is pleased with the information submitted, the Kano government would grant financial support.
Approved by Kano Governor Engineer Abba Kabir Yusuf, this program aims to support moral development and help the youth in the area.
The TikTokers accepted the offer with open minds and conversed with high-ranking Hisbah authorities.
Participants in these conversations on TikTak received N2,000 in travel fare from the Hisbah as a token of their dedication to this endeavor.
This unexpected and novel relationship between TikTokers and the Kano Hisbah aims to uplift moral values in the local TikTok community and empower youth.
