Customs And RMAFC Collaborate To Reduce Revenue Peaks And Increase Revenue
On Tuesday, Bashir Adewale Adeniyi, the acting controller general of customs, announced a cooperation with the Revenue Mobilisation Allocation and Fiscal Commission (RMAFC) to address revenue leakages and increase income into the federation account.
The cooperative project, which the Customs claim marked a turning point in Nigeria's financial landscape, aimed to coordinate policies and combine resources to optimize the return of accrued revenue to the Federal Government.
The relationship was established during the visit of the RMAFC Chairman, Muhammad Shehu Umar, and his delegation to the Nigeria Customs Headquarters.
Adeniyi reaffirmed his steadfast dedication to the collaboration and emphasized the need for everyone to work together to reduce income leakages and increase remittances.
The Interim CGC declared, "It would be a collective responsibility for all of us to come together to minimize revenue leakage and maximize remittance of accrued revenue to the Federal Government."
He also praised RMAFC for their tenacious search for answers to revenue-related problems, emphasizing the crucial role that their collaboration may play in attaining their common goals.
The CGC's appointment was applauded by Chairman Muhammad Shehu Umar, who returned the fervor.
In a similar vein to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Umar reiterated his steadfast support for the CGC's aim to increase income generation.
Additionally, Umar lauded the Nigeria Customs Service's progress in enabling trade around the country under the direction of CGC Adeniyi, realizing that these actions would spark greater revenue creation.
Nigeria's economy is predicted to become more resilient as a result of the cooperation between the Nigeria Customs Service and RMAFC, which is anticipated to strengthen the country's finances and reduce revenue losses.
