SERIE A: OSIMHEN BECOMES THE SECOND NIGERIAN TO WIN THE SCUDETTO AND SMASHES OTHER MILESTONES

After Napoli's historic victory on Thursday night, Victor Osimhen became the second Nigerian to win the Scudetto.

After a 1-1 draw with Udinese at the Dacia Arena, the Partenopei won their first Serie A title in 33 years.

Obafemi Martins was the first Nigerian to accomplish the milestone while playing for Inter Milan in 2005/06.

Osimhen not only won it with Napoli this time, but he was also instrumental in the Partenopei's success.

In 27 league games this season, the 24-year-old has scored 22 goals and supplied four assists.

The striker is currently in contention to become the first African to win the Serie A Golden Boot.

The Nigeria international has surpassed Samuel Eto'o's previous record for the most goals scored by an African player in a Serie A season.

Osimhen is also the joint-highest African goalscorer in Serie A history (46 goals).

He shares the record with former AC Milan forward George Weah, who is now Liberia's president.
