Julius Abure, the Labour Party's national chairman, announced today in Abuja that he had returned to his position and that the party was united and free of factions.

He also said that Apapa Lamidi, the party's suspended deputy national chairman, was unsuccessful in his efforts to forge a split inside the LP.

Abure further disclosed that a lawsuit seeking a restraining order against him no longer falls under the jurisdiction of the FCT High Court in Abuja.

At a news conference held at the party's secretariat, the LP National Chairman informed the media that "our appeal at the Appeal Court" had overturned a previous order of restraint by the FCT High Court.
