Gov. Darius Ishaku Allegedly Approves N2 Billion For Purchase Of New Cars
With only 18 days left in his term, Darius Ishaku, the governor of Taraba State, has approved spending N2 billion on luxury cars for himself, his deputy, and their wives.
According to Premium Times, the decision was made at the most recent State Executive Council (SEC) gathering, which was presided over by Mr. Ishaku. The insider told Premium Times that "Governor Darius Ishaku asked the council to approve a memo he presented for the purchase of vehicles for himself, his deputy, and their wives in our last SEC meeting and it was swiftly approved without any argument."
According to the source, it was claimed during the meeting that Mr. Darius and his deputy deserved new automobiles as they prepared to leave office because they had been using old ones since they took office in 2015.
According to the governor's memo, according to Premium Times, Mr. Darius and his wife would receive exotic cars costing over N1.3 billion, while his deputy and his wife will receive vehicles worth N750 million.
