Executives from the Confederation of African Football (CAF) will gather in Algiers, Algeria, on Thursday to discuss how the 2026 FIFA World Cup will qualify.

Canada, Mexico, and the United States of America will host the competition.

There will be 48 teams competing instead of 32, making it a larger World Cup.

Nine teams from Africa will compete at the 2026 World Cup.

The Super Eagles were unable to advance to the most recent iteration of the international soccer festival held in Qatar.

The proposals submitted to host the Women's Champions League this year and the status report for the AFCON in Cote d'Ivoire the following year will also be discussed by CAF.
