UCL: "YOU SAVED US" ANCELOTTI PRAISES FORMER CHELSEA PLAYER

Carlo Ancelotti, manager of Real Madrid, has praised former Chelsea goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois for saving his side in Tuesday's 2-0 victory over the Blues in the Champions League quarter-final second leg.

Courtois left Chelsea after 154 appearances over four years to join Real Madrid in 2018.

The Belgian has been brilliant for the Spanish capital city team, and his first-half stop prevented Chelsea's Marc Cucurella.

"Courtois saved us, kept it 0-0 until half time," Ancelotti, a former Chelsea boss told the media at Stamford Bridge.

The former Everton manager went on to say that Real Madrid played much better in the second half.

He claimed that they added a lot more talent while the Blues reduced their own effort, allowing Los Blancos to control the ball better.
