Karim Benzema, Real Madrid's captain, is poised to leave the club in 2024 after signing a fresh one-year contract extension.

According to the UK Mirror, Benzema recently turned down a lucrative move to Saudi Arabia.

If the Frenchman had chosen to leave the LaLiga winners, he would have followed in the footsteps of his former teammate Cristiano Ronaldo, who completed a sensational move to Al-Nassr in January.

Benzema is an important player for Real Madrid and was named Ballon d'Or winner last year.

He scored 44 goals in all competitions, 15 of which came during their Champions League run.

The 35-year-old has already scored 25 goals this season, despite the fact that they are set to lose their LaLiga title.
