MULLER MAKES AN OPEN CONFESSION AFTER MANCHESTER CITY DEFEATED BAYERN MUNICH
Following Bayern Munich's departure from the UEFA Champions League, Thomas Muller has conceded that his squad is not scoring enough goals.
Muller was unable to save Bayern Munich as Man City upset them in the Champions League quarter-finals over two legs.
In the Champions League quarter-final second leg, Bayern tied 1-1 with Manchester City.
Last week, the Bundesliga champions were defeated 3-0 by Pep Guardiola's side in the first leg.
According to Bayern Munich's official website, Muller stated in his post-match interview that Thomas Tuchel's side lacked cutting-edge and punch against the Premier League champions.
According to the Germany international, "At the end of the day, we're out. The crowd showed after the game that they saw how much effort we put in and how much we tried to turn the tide. Ultimately we are not scoring enough goals, we have to be honest.
"It was a huge effort, we also had some great pieces of play, but in the end, we lacked cutting edge and punch.
"We are missing narrowly instead of putting them away, and if they are on target, then the goalkeeper saves it.
"We can build on the energy, but we know on Saturday we have got opponents in Mainz who have had a week's rest. That is the main focus now, not dwelling on this bitter exit for too long."
