[WATCH] ADELEKE RECEIVES A ROUSING WELCOME AT WORK FROM OSUN EMPLOYEES

Sen. Ademola Adeleke, the newly sworn-in governor of Osun, was welcomed to his office on Monday by Osun public servants working at the State Secretariat in Abere, Osogbo, with ceremony and fanfare.

In anticipation of the governor's arrival, the employees who had been waiting at the State Secretariat entrance since 8:00 a.m. were seen singing and dancing.

Security personnel were stationed with the employees, and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) supporters joined the employees to welcome Adeleke.

The governor was seen waving at the crowd from his car as he arrived at the Secretariat later that day at around 12.30 p.m. after attending some party activities at his campaign office on the Osogbo-Gbongan Expressway.

However, the crush of federal officials at the Secretariat's main gate resulted in gridlock for commuters and drivers on the highway.

The sixth Executive Governor and Deputy Governor of Osun State, Adeleke and Kola Adewusi, were sworn in on Sunday by Justice Adepele Ojo, the state's top judge.

In a festive ceremony conducted at Osogbo City Stadium, Adeleke received the Oath and Allegiance of Office from the state chief judge at precisely 11.47 a.m., while his deputy received it earlier at 11.36 a.m.

During the July 16 governor's election, Adeleke had defeated All Progressives Congress (APC) incumbent Adeboyega Oyetola.
