ASUU LOSES AS COURT MANDATED THEM TO RESUME WORK

ASUU suffers another defeat as the Court of Appeal orders its members to return to work immediately

The Court of Appeal in Abuja has ordered the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) to end its current strike action immediately.

ASUU, which has been on strike since February 14, 2022, took the federal government to court after the National Industrial Court (NIC) ordered an end to the strike.

In its decision on the appeal on Friday, October 7, the court stated that the union's request will be granted only if its members end the strike action immediately pending the outcome of the substantive suit.

Following the obedience of the lower court's ruling, the court gave ASUU seven days to file an appeal.
