WAR: IN THE MIDST OF THE UKRAINE-RUSSIA CONFLICT, ZELENSKY SENDS A MESSAGE TO LIZ TRUSS
In his daily address, Zelensky stated that he was looking forward to the start of cooperation with Truss.
Truss was confirmed as Britain's new Conservative leader on Monday.
taking over for Prime Minister Boris Johnson, who was one of Zelensky's strongest supporters.
"I am equally excited about the start of collaboration with Mrs. Liz Truss, the new Prime Minister of the United Kingdom."
"We know her well in Ukraine—she has always been on the bright side of European politics," Zelensky said.
"And I believe that by working together, we will be able to do a lot more to protect our nations and thwart all Russian destructive efforts," he added.
"The most important thing is to maintain our unity, which will undoubtedly be the case."
Meanwhile, since Russia launched its invasion on February 24, Britain has been a staunch ally of Ukraine.
Ukraine and Russia have been at odds for over six months.
Several casualties have already been recorded as a result of the war as of today
