Truss named Badenoch as the new Secretary of State for International Trade and President of the Board of Trade on Tuesday.

The appointment was announced in a tweet from the UK Prime Minister's verified Twitter account, @10DowningStreet.

The tweet read, "Kemi Badenoch MP @KemiBadenoch has been appointed Secretary of State for International Trade and President of the Board of Trade @TradeGovUK."

Badenoch, who also took to her verified Twitter account, expressed her excitement about the appointment.

She wrote on Twitter: "I'm excited to begin my new job at @tradegovuk! We look forward to realizing Global Britain's full potential in order to create more jobs, growth, and opportunity across the UK."
