EX GOVERNOR OBIANO, WILLIE RELEASED BY EFCC

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC has released a former governor of Anambra State, Willie Obiano and his wife, Ebelechukuwu had earlier been reported to have been arrested by EFCC arrested around 2.30pm on Thursday at the Murtala Muhammad International Airport, Lagos as he was about to board a flight to Houston, Texas in the United States.

This was after he handed over to Prof  Charles Soludo as the new governor of Anambra State.

Although details behind his arrest are still sketchy, Obiano has reportedly been on the watchlist of the anti-graft agency over allegations of Fraud and Embezzlement of public funds.
