MATERIAL GAIN

Materialism a trait that can afflict both rich and poor - a value system that is preoccupied with possessions and the social image they project. It's both  socially destructive and self destructive. It smashes the happiness and peace of mind of those who succumb to it. It's associated with anxiety, depression and broken relationships. 

On this side of eternity you will have material gain. Shelter, clothing, and food are necessary. Depending on your heart and taste, these necessities vary in description. Based on means, your shelter may not just be a roof over your head. You may consider what type of roof and where. Your clothing may go beyond covering your nakedness and you will consider style, fashion and designer's name. Food will go beyond just taking away hunger. It's good to live, dress and eat well. A right attitude and pure heart will help you in your approach. Your motive should always be well founded. 

The dreadful mistake we are making: allowing ourselves to believe that having more money and more stuff enhances our wellbeing, a belief possessed not only by the poor but by almost every member of almost every government. Worldly ambition, material aspiration, perpetual growth: these are a formula for mass unhappiness. 

After what I experienced a day ago, I realized material gain is upon vanity after all.
