Cisse nets hat-trick as AC Milan thrash Salzburg for first Europa League win...

An Alphadjo Cisse hat-trick saw AC Milan secure their first UEFA Europa League win of the season with an emphatic 4-0 victory away at FC Salzburg, a result that extended the Rossoneri's unbeaten run in all competitions to three matches.

Keen to bounce back from their matchday one loss to Benfica, the visitors enjoyed the better of the early exchanges, though chances for Adrien Rabiot and Omari Hutchinson went begging.

They deservedly took the lead after 15 minutes, when Cisse headed in Hutchinson's superb cross from the right.

Milan's dominance was almost rewarded with a second just two minutes later, as Christian Zawieschitzky did well to deny Ruben Loftus-Cheek from close range, before Kevin Boma produced a superb block on the line to keep out Hutchinson's effort.

The hosts thought they had equalised midway through the first half through Haris Tabakovic, but his effort was immediately ruled out after the ball was adjudged to have gone out of play in the build-up.

The Rossoneri kept up the pressure on the Salzburg backline, and doubled their lead after 32 minutes when Cisse produced a clever improvised finish from Davide Bartesaghi's ball across goal.

There was no let-up from the Rossoneri after the break, and Cisse completed his hat-trick just four minutes into the second half, latching onto Rabiot's pass to slot home from inside the six-yard box.

With the result all but secured, both Hutchinson and substitute Christian Pulisic went close to adding a fourth midway through the second half, before fellow substitute Goncalo Ramos pounced on a defensive mistake to beat Zawieschitzky and net inside the final 20 minutes.

Milan were reduced to 10 men late on when substitute Filippo Terracciano was sent off for denying a clear goalscoring opportunity, but the damage was already done and the Rossoneri cruised to victory.
