Arsenal hit three goals in eight second-half minutes to see off Lille...

Arsenal finally overcame a stubborn Lille to secure a comfortable 3-0 win at the Emirates in the Champions League, extending their record to 14 straight victories in the league phase.

Mikel Arteta's men looked to maintain their outstanding league phase form as they welcomed a Lille side who have endured difficult recent visits to England.

Ligue 1 outfit Lille were lucky not to fall behind inside 20 minutes when Bruno Guimaraes dragged his effort wide from close range after Jurrien Timber’s cutback.

Lille stayed disciplined in their shape and momentarily silenced the Emirates when Ayase Ueda slotted past David Raya, but Arsenal were reprieved as Hakon Haraldsson was flagged offside in the build-up.

Arsenal continued to pile pressure on Lille's defence and finally made the breakthrough in the 64th minute thanks to a superb finish from Timber.

The Dutchman latched onto Madueke's pass in stride before delicately lifting the ball over Ozer to hand the Gunners a deserved lead.

Eze doubled the lead three minutes later, firing home first-time from substitute Bukayo Saka's cross, with the latter registering an assist just two minutes after coming on.

It was two substitutes who combined to make it 3-0 in the 71st minute, as Saka got on the scoresheet himself with a composed finish from Kai Havertz's cross to all but end any hopes of a Lille comeback.

Guimaraes was keen to add his name to the scoresheet but was denied by Ozer, as Arsenal had to settle for three goals on the night.
