Eintracht Frankfurt thrashed fifth-tier St. Tonis 11-0 on Friday in the first round of the German Cup, hitting a record 10 goals before half-time.

Playing their first competitive game under returning boss Adi Hutter, Frankfurt were dominant against the amateurs. It was a perfect response after their 7-0 friendly defeat to Brentford in London last Saturday.

The result was Frankfurt’s largest ever German Cup win and the biggest by any team in the competition since 2021. Their 10-0 lead at half-time was also the highest in the tournament’s 84-year history.

Germany striker Jonathan Burkardt grabbed a hat-trick, while Can Uzun added two. Robin Koch, Ayoube Amaimouni, Elias Baum, Younes Ebnoutalib and Mario Gotze were also on target before the break, with Fares Chaibi making it 11 late on.

Later on Friday, holders Stuttgart eased to a 4-0 win over third-tier Hansa Rostock. New signing Dzenan Pejcinovic marked his debut with a hat-trick.
