San Francisco 49ers owner Jed York has pleaded no contest to two criminal charges after his arrest on suspicion of soliciting prostitution, court records and reports said Monday.

Court records from Ohio showed Monday that York was fined $1,150 after being charged with misdemeanor disorderly conduct and possession of criminal tools.  

Multiple US media outlets reported that York was initially detained on a charge of “engaging in prostitution” after being arrested by East Palestine Police on Sunday.  

The charge was later reduced to misdemeanor disorderly conduct after York entered a no contest plea.  

York was also given a one-day jail sentence on each charge, but was released Monday after time served following his arrest and detention.

A no contest plea does not mean admitting guilt. It means accepting a conviction and sentence, often as part of a plea deal.

York, 46, is the principal owner and CEO of the San Francisco 49ers. He’s also a co-owner of Premier League club Leeds United and Scottish side Rangers.
